Bringhurst Primary School is committed to ensuring all children achieve their full potential within National Curriculum subjects as well as developing their artistic and creative potential.
We aim to educate children to become flexible and adaptable, independent and co-operative, and to become self-disciplined members of school and society. We enable all children to work effectively and to make good progress in relation to their prior attainment.
The children spend most of their time in school with their own class teacher, but we encourage using "experts" in the classroom and incorporate specialist teaching in ICT, Art and Design, Sports and Music.
Children also receive help from learning support staff, or from parents working in small groups under the direction of the class teacher. Specialist help is also available from other services who visit for specific purposes.
When your child joins us in the Foundation Stage, a lot of what we do is centered around their personal, social and emotional development. This equips each child with the skills needed to tackle the rest of their school journey and everyday life.
We also focus on:
- Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Communication, language and literacy
- Physical development
- Creative development
