Life With Us

The school is proud of its reputation as a family friendly school. We have a busy calendar of events and our families and local community are an integral part of the day to day successes of Bringhurst.

Visitors often comment on the friendliness of our school and the courteous behaviour of our pupils, indeed the size and nature of our school means that the teachers, staff, parents and pupils can get to know and support each other in a personal, friendly manner.

At Bringhurst we are very lucky to have spacious grounds, a covered 4+ play area, a secure pond area and garden areas being developed to improve our outdoor environment.

In recent years a modern three classroom teaching block with an additional small group teaching room and associated facilities have been added, which means that our pupils can now access some state-of-the-art facilities.

As a school we are committed to safeguarding the welfare of all our pupils and expect all members of our school community to share this commitment. We believe in creating a whole school culture that is safe and inclusive, and we are committed to supporting the principles of respect, children’s rights and responsibilities, fairness, equality, tolerance and understanding for all.

The timings of the school day are:

Morning:         9:00am - 12.00 noon

Afternoon:      1.15pm – 3:25pm

A school bus operates for those children who live within catchment but more than two miles from school. Please note that children are not supervised until 10 minutes before the start of the session and they should, therefore, preferably not arrive before 8:50am. However, the school is sensitive to the needs of working parents and makes adjustments accordingly.

Our after school activities and after school care club provide a safe and enjoyable haven for children beyond the end of the school day until 5pm four days per week. We review this provision on a regular basis according to parental need.
