First time admission applications for Autumn 2016
First Time School Admissions
We have been asked by Leicestershire County Council to remind parents about the following admissions procedure for intake in Autumn 2016.
Parents of children who will be four years old before 1st September 2016 must apply for their first school place at an infant or primary school.
First time admissions to school are not automatic. All parents must apply – even for their child to attend the catchment area school for their home address. The closing date for applications is 15th January 2016. Applications received after this date will be considered late and may not be offered a place at any of their preferred schools, or even their catchment area school.
You can apply online at www.leics.gov.uk/admissions. This is quick and easy and an emailed receipt is sent within 15 minutes of the application being submitted so you are sure it has gone through correctly. This also allows you to view your application and update it up until the closing date and to view your results online on the offer date. If you do not have internet access you can contact either LCC Customer Service Centre on 0116 305 6684 or the school who will provide an application form for you.
If you live in either Rutland or Northamptonshire then you will need to apply through their websites. Your applications will then be forwarded to Leicestershire after the 15th January 2016 closing date.
The National Offer date for school places is 16th April 2016 when parents and schools will be made aware of placements.
